Chimie Des Fleurs

Our modern floral was sourced from the Ducharne Archive established in 1920 France. Mr. Ducharne was known for commissioning groundbreaking modern designs that were translated onto silk and regularly used by haute couture houses such as Vionnet and Schiaparelli. We love it sitting alongside our Abstracte, Arp and Charleston patterns.

La CHIMIE DES FLEURS

The Chemistry of Flowers

Ducharne's preference was to create form his workshop in Montmartre, Paris. There he had access and collaborated with the forward thinking artists and printmakers of the era. The studio closed in 1960. We feel our artwork must have been from those later years . Inspired by how the almost psychedelic flowers were combined with dots that resemble vintage molecular models we named it The Chemistry of Flowers.
