Masterfully Modern
The Modernist artwork of Marc Chagall (1887 - 1985) often featured fantastical bouquets of flowers and dreamy landscapes. His work was heavily influenced by Russian folklore: references he poetically combined with elements of Fauvism, Symbolism and Surrealism to create artwork that defied classifiaction. Our original printers proof of a 1940's textile design was found in a French Archive and reminded us of his wonderfully whimsical mark making.
