We first fell in love with the artist's proof that would become our Florale print many years ago when viewing the Biancini-Ferrier archive established in Lyon, France in the late 1800's. We never forgot this particular artwork. It made such a great impression on us and we sought it out as soon as we decided to create our own Brand.

Fabulous Fauvism
Fauvism is largely regarded as the first major avant-garde art movement of the 20th Century. Les Fauves (1904 - 1910) were lead in part by Henri Matisse and their paintings are characterized by wildly unusual color combinations and expressive linework. For us one of the most inspiring recent exhibitions was last years wonderful Vertigo of Color at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where we were able to get really close to some of our favorite paintings and examine the color and brushwork in fine detail.
