Sonia
We found our original Art Deco design in a small private US Archive. The marks and lively layout of the flowers reminded us of the work of Sonia Delaunay ( 1885-1979). While most of her more well known work is more painterly and geometric she did explore florals in a naive and deconstructed manner.

Sonia Delaunay
Sonia Delaunay (1885-1979) was a leading figure in the Parisian avant- garde. Her creative reach extended far beyond abstract painting. She lived her "Art" and in doing so experimented with many mediums but it is her printed textile and poster designs that we find the most compelling. Sonia was a modern entrepreneur and formed her own commercial design studio in 1924 Paris producing textiles for fashion and interiors - designing her own logo and marketing materials - which was quite unheard of at the time!
