La Fonda Del Sol

We found our simple vintage sunburst motif in a private textile collection and instantly thought of the visually stunning interiors of acclaimed 1960's restaurant La Fonda Del Sol. The restaurant's dazzling aesthetic was brought to life by the brilliant mind of design legend Alexander Girard ( 1907 - 1993 ). Girard was a prolific designer. He created over eighty variations of his iconic smiling sun motif which adorned the restaurant's fabrics, logo and menu designs. Girard was an exceptional creative known for his passion integrity and influential contributions to the world of modern textile and graphic design. We are huge fans.
